It can be hard to find sturdy, classic lampshades so we’ve made our own. Created from upcycled heavy cotton-linen fabric from Ian Mankin (which weaves its fabrics in the UK), these can be used on table lamps or hanging lamps to gently diffuse light.
The lightshades provide varied work for women at FabricWorks in East London. They not only provide variety and meaningful activity for women who are learning sewing and textile skills but also reflect our commitment to high quality, natural materials and reusing wherever we can. Because they are made by real people there are inconsistencies and shade variations but what some may see as imperfections we see as marks of personality and character. Images depict the item as accurately as possible. For more on the people behind our products, see our Makers page for more details.
